Messier 51, Whirlpool Galaxy

M51 or the Whirlpool Galaxy is situated in the constellation of Canes Venatici, near the star Alkaid (the last star in the tail of Ursa Mayor). The distants is about 23 million light-years from our Milky Way. It is a beautifull galaxy which can be seen with even small telescopes.
